Best Time to do Dayara Bugyal Trek

The trek is open for 8 months however, during the monsoon season we suggest you avoid trekking because the land is more slippery.   1. Dayara Bugyal trek in the Spring season: mid-March to April.


  • During the spring season, you will experience fresh greenery with different types of flowers. Due to the melting of snow, you will see the famous peaks and can enjoy the scenic view. You will get a glance at peaks like Draupadi Ka Danda, Bandarpoonch, and black Peak. In this season you can experience trekking without much cold and with clear paths. 


  1. Trekking in the winter season: Mid-December to early March.

  • During the summer season, the scenery of Dayara Bugyal Trek is so, mesmerizing that you will think of it as a daydream. This is the safest season for trekking because there will be no snow and cold breezes. Therefore, if you want to trek without experiencing any cold environment you can choose the summer season. 

Itinerary for Dayara Bugyal Trek 

This is a 4–5-day trek, here we will provide you with a planned itinerary so you can complete the trek smoothly. Your trek starts from Dehradun and during the route from Dehradun to Basecamp you will experience stunning trails. Let’s start planning for a smooth sailing Dayara Bugyal Trek. 

Day1: Dehradun to Raithal 

There is a drive of 180km which takes around 6 to 8 hours. During the drive from Dehradun, you will see the beautiful mountains of Uttarkashi with charming rivers.  Although in the route you will come across pine trees which will make your drive more up to mark. After reaching Raithal you can rest in the hotel/homestay. 

Day 2: trek from Raithal to Gui Campsite.

On 2nd day of the trek, there is a 4km short trek from Raithal to Gui. It is a gradual ascent trail that will cover Oak and rhododendron forests. Here you will get a view of peaks covered with snow. After covering the whole trek and doing the sightseeing, rest in the campsite. 

Day 3: Gui to Dayara Bugyal and then returning. 

The altitude of the trek is around 11,800 ft. 3rd day trek I also a round trip because we have to move to Dayara Bugyal and then return to base as the trek is not that long. You will visit Bakaria Top and in the surroundings, you will find certain peaks like Shrikhand Mahadev, Draupadi Ka Danda, the Gangotri mountain range, and Mt Joanli. Thus, you will experience an astonishing view. However, at last, you will return to the base camp. 

Day 4: trek from Gui to Raithal. 

This is a 4km trek of 2 to 3 hours. So, it's clear that it is a short trek. Some people want to discover more so, they want to stay in Raithal or want to explore more in Gui. However, if you want to return to Dehradun, you can do that. However, we recommend you take a rest and scout more, and on the next day head to Dehradun. 

Day 5: Drive from Raithal to Dehradun

This day you will return from Raithal to Dehradun via Uttarkashi. The drive is around 6 to 8 hours so, pack your things accordingly.
