If there’s one thing the Himalayas teach you, it’s this, they don’t just test your strength, they reshape your spirit. And my recent Pangarchula Peak Summit Trek in Uttarakhand turned out to be exactly the same. A beautiful, brutal, and deeply fulfilling experience, made seamless, safe, and unforgettable by the incredible team at ThinAirExpedition.
Day 1: Dehradun to Pipalkoti — The Beginning of Something Big

The journey began with a long but scenic 6–8 hour drive from Dehradun to Pipalkoti. The mountains slowly started wrapping around us, setting the tone for what lay ahead.
The evening was nothing short of perfect - warm food, a relaxed vibe, light celebrations, and a detailed briefing about the trek. Right from Day 1, Thin Air Expedition set the benchmark high with their super-premium hospitality. Everything was well-organized, thoughtful, and incredibly welcoming.
Day 2: Tugasi to Guling Basecamp — Easing Into the Himalayas

We drove for about 2 hours to Tugasi village (~8000 ft), the starting point of our trek. From here, a 3-hour easy-to-moderate hike took us to Guling Basecamp (~9500 ft).
What stood out? We reached to find tents already set, hot beverages ready, and food freshly prepared. No stress, no chaos — just pure joy of being in the mountains. It was the perfect acclimatization day, both physically and mentally.
Day 3: Guling to Khullara — Into the Heart of the Himalayas

We started at 8:00 AM and climbed steadily for 4–6 hours to reach Khullara Basecamp (~12,000+ ft).
This place? Absolutely surreal.
Snow-covered landscapes, crisp air, and the feeling of being deep inside the Himalayan wilderness. And surprisingly — a cricket match at 12,000 ft! That moment alone was unforgettable.
Knowing we would spend two nights here, preparing for both Kuari Pass and the Pangarchula Summit, added a layer of excitement (and nerves).
Day 4: Kuari Pass — The Semi-Final Test

We started early at 7:00 AM with light backpacks, heading for Kuari Pass (~13,500 ft).
This 4–5 hour hike was a reality check — challenging enough to push your limits but perfect for acclimatization before the mighty summit push. The views were nothing short of cinematic.
We were back by 3:00 PM at Khullara Basecamp, we had an early dinner and were instructed to rest. Because what awaited us next… was the real deal.
Day 5: Pangarchula Summit — The Ultimate Test of Will

The day began at 1:00–1:30 AM. By 2:30–3:00 AM, we were already trekking under the stars.
This was not just a trek - it was a freaking battle.
As we climbed above 15,000 ft, oxygen levels dropped, fatigue kicked in, and every step demanded willpower. This is where mindset matters more than muscle.
Reaching near the summit at sunrise? Indescribable. The Himalayas unfolded in a way words simply cannot capture.
But here’s the truth:
The descent was even tougher than the climb.
Soft snow, unpredictable weather, whiteouts - everything pushed us to our limits. And this is where the expert leadership and safety protocols of ThinAirExpedition truly shined. Every step was monitored, every risk anticipated.
We made it back to Khullara Basecamp filled with exhaustion, emotions, and feeling of being victorious.
We spend that night full of Celebration, laughter, and deep satisfaction.
Day 6: Descent to Tugasi — A Quiet Goodbye

After the most intense day of the trek, we took it slow. A relaxed morning, warm tea, and one last look at the mighty 27 peaks .
The 4–5 hour descent to Tugasi felt reflective — like leaving behind a version of yourself in the mountains.
Thin Air Expedition didn’t just organize a trek, they crafted an experience.
At such altitudes, expectations drop - but not here.
Hot, fresh, and unbelievably delicious meals were served consistently. It genuinely felt like fine dining in the Himalayas.
From acclimatization planning to summit-day execution, everything was handled with precision. You always felt safe, guided, and supported.
A huge shoutout to:
Their leadership, calmness under pressure, motivation during tough moments, and constant support made all the difference. They didn’t just guide us — they carried our morale when it mattered the most.
The Pangarchula Summit Trek is not for everyone, it demands resilience, patience, and mental strength.
But if you choose to do it…Do it with ThinAirExpedition.
